Seeds (©2016 John T. Windle/Vaudeville John)
Here comes a sermon, no solipsist's slight,
will neither be German, nor promise delight.
The precept is posit, some seeds on the breeze
to evolve and edit those questionable
creeds, given by the ages
from suspect sages, so,
here are a few
that I recommend you:
Newton and Darwin,
two secular saints.
Lenny and Carlin,
truth in verbal paint.
Sylvia shared her
permeations of pain.
Rothko illustrated
his metaphysical
stains, chromatic lanes,
artist pathologies, our enigmatic gains.
Psychologists, biologists
physicists, chemists
and almighty geologists.
Vonnegut: Science;
"it's magic that works".
Buddhists take time-outs
with pragmatic perks.
Hitchens unpicked
overrighteous bullshit;
doctrine infractions
with thousand-yard wit.
Empirical soldiers,
worlds on their shoulders.
marching forward.
Unlucky ones
struck down with fists and guns,
discredited, imprisoned
or socially slaughtered.
Jesus had some points
with that speech on the mount
but those books full of madness,
simply cannot count.
We don't need these legions,
we've transcended that,
must stop status-wearing
ridiculous pompous hats,
leave that to fashion,
creative passion;
preternatural journeys,
no mental gurneys.
Illuminate the comedy,
unravel knots and see that the key is;
faith in humanity
to work it all out
surpass the doubt,
and disperse the keys.
